Fluke Networks Singlemode SC-LC Launch Leads. To get the best results with the Fibre QuickMap, especially for visibility into the first event, we recommend using a high-quality, low-loss, low-reflectance fibre launch cable of at least 100 meters with the appropriate connector for the first connection into the link under test. Using a shorter fibre launch cable may hide the first event within the Fibre QuickMap’s dead zone.
Make sure the OTDR launch fibre has the same core diameter and connector type as the fibre link under test. In other words, if the link is 62.5 micron multimode, do not use a 50 micron multimode launch fibre. And no fibre patch cords should be used to transition between different connector types.
